Make Easy Homemade Cleaners To Boost Your Immune System

With the right support your immune system can be strong, powerful, and overcome pretty much anything. Many simple tasks that you already do on a daily basis could be tweaked just a little so that they bring enormous benefit to your health at no extra cost to you. For instance, you could make easy homemade cleaners to boost your immune system. Sounds simple, right? Read on to find out how it works and why you should try it.

WHAT IS YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM?

Your immune system protects your body from outside invaders, such as bacteria, viruses, fungi, and toxins. It’s made up of different organs, cells, and proteins that work together to form a full spectrum of health. You can be anywhere on this spectrum and it can change anytime. It’s an ever evolving system that you can positively or negatively affect.

HOW IS THE IMMUNE SYSTEM DAMAGED?

In order to function at peak performance, other systems and organs also need to be at their best. For example, the liver regulates the balance of thyroid, sex, and adrenal hormones. It removes any excess hormones from the body via the gut, so if your liver is sluggish and doesn’t do this properly, a build up or imbalance of hormones occurs. If your gut isn’t healthy it can’t excrete the toxins/hormones properly. This results in both emotional and physical illness that your immune system can’t prevent.

As a result of your immune system not functioning well you can end up with autoimmune conditions such as Graves, Hashimotos, Hypothyroidism, Rheumatoid Arthritis, or Lupus.

In addition to this, your immune system is also affected by external influences such as viruses, bacteria, infections, and stress.

HOW TO SUPPORT YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM

There are many small steps that you can take to improve your immune system and the first is to consider your environment. Exposure to toxins on a regular basis is a sure-fire way to wear down your immunity and overall health. Remember that your skin is the largest organ on your body and it absorbs whatever you put on it.

By keeping your home and body toxin-free your immune system will improve. Replacing ingredients in laundry soap, toothpaste, skin cleanser, deodorant, and household cleansers with chemical free alternatives your immune system gets a much needed break from the constant invasion. It’s an easy, stress-free way to make small changes with huge benefits. Homemade options also save you money and mean you can customize them to your preference!

OILS FOR HEALTH

Essential oils are a vital part of my healthcare routine and recommendations. Each oil contains different compounds which treat or benefit a variety of ailments and conditions.

There is so much info online about which ones to use and how to use them safely but you can also become an oil expert with my private tutoring sessions on essential oils for health

Whichever oils you are using, make sure they are both organic and therapeutic. Organic oils are extracted from plants grown without the use of pesticides. Therapeutic oils are distilled in a way which maintains integrity of the health-benefiting compounds.

Many oils are antiviral, antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antifungal. Also, they just smell amazing! A few of my favorite oils to use cleaning are Lavender, Lemon, Grapefruit, and Frankincense.

You can buy organic therapeutic essential oils at a reasonable cost here.

5 BENEFITS OF MAKING YOUR OWN CLEANING PRODUCTS

So, now that you know why your immune system is so important and how to give it a boost, let’s look at where homemade cleaners come in.

  • It saves you money. You probably have the required ingredients already but even if you need to buy them, it will cost around $10 and last you 6 to 8 months!
  • You can customize the recipe to include oils that directly benefit your own preference or health conditions.
  • Homemade cleaning products are safe for children, pets, and the environment.
  • They make multi-purpose cleaners. No more buying different products for every surface. One homemade cleaning product will tackle them all!
  • They improve your immune system by reducing exposure to and absorption of toxins, improving air quality, and creating balance in your body systems.

CHOOSING INGREDIENTS

When choosing ingredients for your homemade cleaning products make sure they are natural, toxin free products. Sometimes a small oversight makes a big difference.

One thing I used to take for granted was water quality. Using filtered water that’s free from chlorine and fluoride is essential in maintaining your health. You can use filtration jugs, tap filter systems, or even full systems that hook up to your shower! There are plenty of affordable options so do some research and pick one that works best for you. This was a key step for me in eliminating my autoimmune conditions and finally ditching all those medications.

Castile soap is a concentrated vegetable-based soap. It can be used to clean pretty much everything. I find the liquid better for this recipe but the bars better for laundry powder. I use  Dr Bronner’s almond soap in this recipe.

THE RECIPE

Let’s get to it! Here’s exactly what you need to make easy homemade cleaners that improve your immune system:

2 Cups filtered water

2 TBSP Castile soap (up to ¼ Cup)

10-15 drops essential oils

Combine ingredients in a glass container and keep out of direct sunlight. It will last for around a week as water based products need to be used quickly. However, if you decide to add a little lemon juice as a preservative, it will last in the fridge for up to 3 weeks.

And there you have it.
